Western Iowa Networks (WIN) continues to make significant contributions to community development through its support of local projects. Recently, the Carroll Area Child Care Center and Preschool, along with the City of Westside, were recipients of project grants from the Aureon Charity Grant Program, administered by WIN. This financial support aims to enhance child care facilities and community infrastructure, demonstrating WIN’s commitment to fostering growth and development within the communities it serves.

The Carroll Area Child Care Center and Preschool received a $250 grant to fund the purchase and installation of a padded surface for its infant and toddler playground equipment. This update is crucial for the safety and development of the 58 children in this age group who use the playground. The new equipment, a climber suitable for children aged 6 to 36 months, addresses the need for age-appropriate and safe outdoor play options. Executive Director Keely Fara emphasized the importance of this upgrade, highlighting the long fundraising effort to make this project possible.

In addition to supporting child care facilities, WIN has extended its generosity to the City of Westside by awarding a $500 grant. This grant contributed to the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment in the new enclosed shelter house at Hoffman Park. The shelter house, which doubles as a community center, accommodates around 75 people and is equipped with a full kitchen. It has already hosted various community events since its opening. The city plans further improvements, including landscaping and other enhancements to the park area.
