Welcome to The Happy Place Preschool and Daycare in Okotoks! Our mission is to provide valuable learning experiences that build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and promote healthy, happy living.

At The Happy Place, we believe that children learn and develop through play and sensory stimulation. Play is the work of children, and we create a fun and interactive learning environment where children can grow, problem-solve, build confidence, and develop positive self-esteem. We believe that competence and leadership are developed through experiencing success.

Our program is designed to cultivate knowledge, skill development, and positive attitudes for lifelong learning. We recognize that each child has unique needs, interests, and learning styles. We provide individualized attention and allow children to progress at their own pace and developmental level. Our curriculum includes structured and open-ended activities that encourage exploration and experiences.

We incorporate materials and activities that promote social, physical (fine/gross motor), creative, emotional, and intellectual growth. Our environment is safe, challenging, caring, respectful, creative, and nurturing, providing support and reassurance to each child. We value the involvement of parents in their child's learning journey and believe that communication is essential for building positive relationships.

At The Happy Place, we offer age-appropriate educational activities, following the Reggio philosophy. We also use the 'Handwriting Without Tears' Early Literacy Program to support literacy development. Our curriculum includes pre-reading, writing, math, science, and French readiness. We engage children in arts and crafts, music, movement, and physical activities. We celebrate special events such as Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Year-end. We invite community visitors to enrich the learning experience. Our facility is located near green spaces and we prioritize outdoor play every day, weather permitting.

The daycare is open year-round, with the exception of Christmas Break and statutory holidays, including Truth and Reconciliation Day. We are conveniently located within walking distance of the Okotoks library, providing additional learning opportunities.
