At Sessila Academy Inc (Kanata), we believe that each child has a unique way of learning and developing skills, and we strive to create an environment that fosters this individuality. Our educational activities are designed to encourage exploration and discovery, without placing predetermined learning outcomes on the child. This allows each child to give the activity a personal direction and learn according to their own perception of the activity.

Our teachers are trained to stimulate the learning process through open-ended questions, which allow the child to move in a direction that is natural to them. We believe that the child should be the principal agent in their own learning process, and we focus on experiences rather than just results.

The Sessila approach is based on the socio-constructivist pedagogical approach, which emphasizes the quality of interactions and relationships between the child, adults, and peers. We accompany the child in their development rather than adopting a didactic teaching approach. Our program is offered in both official languages and is licensed by the Ministry of Education, as well as a member of the City of Ottawa childcare registry.

Our center operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, and we offer programs for infants (0 to 18 months), toddlers (18 to 30 months), and preschoolers (30 months +). We are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes learning and growth.
