Canada Place Child Care Society
Welcome to Canada Place Child Care Society (CPCCS) located at 9700 Jasper Ave, Edmonton, AB T5J 4C3, Canada.
As a non-profit daycare in downtown Edmonton, CPCCS has been providing exceptional childcare for over 30 years. We are provincially licensed and committed to delivering top-quality care and programming for children aged 0-6 years old. While we prioritize spaces for children of federal government employees, we are inclusive and welcome all families.
At CPCCS, we embrace the Reggio Emilia constructivist philosophy in our programming. This approach, proven successful in early childhood education, views children as strong, capable, competent, and full of potential. Children are regarded as researchers and co-learners alongside their educators. Our educators are keen observers and recorders of each child's interests and needs. We create a stimulating environment filled with books, objects, and materials, allowing programming to develop based on the children's unique interests and communication abilities.
In addition to our Reggio-inspired programming, we offer special activities such as French Language Classes, Music, and Yoga. These programs recognize that children have a hundred languages through which they can express themselves. Music and dance provide creative outlets for self-expression. Furthermore, we prioritize physical activity by incorporating guided walks and providing access to our private gym and playground, aligning with the Canada Physical Activity Guidelines.
We are excited about the Government of Alberta's Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework, which aligns with our Reggio philosophy. We are in the process of modernizing our programs and activities to align with this new framework. To facilitate this process, we have formed partnerships with MacEwan University and Norquest, offering student internships at our center. These internships benefit both students completing their practicum requirements and our educators, who gain ideas and activities based on the new Alberta curriculum.
Our daycare features six large and bright children's rooms, each catering to different age groups. We also have a spacious indoor gym designed to foster gross motor development and a private outdoor playground in a quiet area adjacent to the building. We take advantage of our convenient location by organizing indoor and outdoor outings to nearby attractions such as the Stanley Milner Library, City Hall, Citadel Theatre, Churchill Square, the River Valley, the Chinese Gardens, Alberta Provincial Museum, and Alberta Art Gallery.
We offer child care services Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Our daycare is currently accepting registrations for select ages. Experience the benefits of our French Classes, Yoga, and Music programs. Feel free to contact us for more information or to arrange a visit to our center.
