Colwood is set to welcome a pioneering Indigenous-focused daycare, courtesy of the Hulitan Family and Community Services Society. This unique initiative aims at integrating cultural education into early childhood care.

The daycare, designed with Indigenous motifs, focuses on reconnecting young children with their heritage. It promises a trauma-informed approach and includes wrap-around services for families, emphasizing the community’s role in nurturing children’s well-being and cultural identity. Supported by Aboriginal Headstart and United Way South Vancouver Island, this facility marks a significant step towards decolonizing childcare.
